Beyond any extra cash, what first drew me to creating my own products and selling them was my inner entrepreneur. From the time I was very young, I made mud pies in my back yard {“chocolate” mud shavings on top, of course!} and tried to sell them to neighbors down the road. Entrepreneurialism is just a part of who I am! In the past, this trait actually led me out of the classroom for a bit, creating couture invitations and stationery {and selling them on ETSY}. Soon, though, I missed the classroom. When the teacher blogging boom hit, I realized that now I could combine my passion for teaching, with blogging, design, and creating/selling my own products so that fulfill my entrepreneurial spirit, while still serving as a teacher!
First and foremost comes family. Whether it’s putting away funds for Grayson’s college, a future home in a new area closer to both of our job locations, daycare costs….you name it….I love the idea of being able to contribute as much as possible using extra TPT funds to these necessary and highly important family expenses.
We have a few local charities that we love to support through giving. Both are personal to us because they are close to the hearts of friends we care deeply about. It would be a dream come true to be able to give more significantly to those charities and other new foundations, thanks to extra funds coming in through TPT! Check out the Michael P. Savoca Memorial Foundation and the Busy Brains Children’s Museum to see why we love them so much want to continue to support their hard work, efforts, and cause.
Girls just wanna have fun…and I’m no exception. While I have everything I could ever need, it would {of course} be awesome to have extra cash for fun goodies such as shopping, date nights, extracurriculars for Grayson, family vacations, and more! You can ask my hubby…I’m very frugal, so I would love to be able to pay for all fun extras with cash coming in from TPT!
Other fun that goes with the territory of blogging and selling involves meeting and connecting with new friends and colleagues around the country {and beyond}. Already, I’ve met so many blogging besties whom I’ve learned from, collaborated with, been inspired by, and have grown to love. I’m just starting this venture, so I cannot wait to see other new friendships bloom.
